This summer, Anastasiia Teslyk, a 4th year student of the Department of International Economic Relations, is doing an internship in Canada under the Mitacs Globalink program at the University of Saskatchewan.<\/p>\n

Anastasiia is working on a research project titled \u201cMigrant Behavior in Everyday Life: The Economics of Prejudice.\u201d She is studying how beliefs about luck, omens, and other forms of everyday superstitious thinking influence people’s economic decisions.<\/p>\n

So far, the first days of the internship are passing: getting to know the university environment, professor and mentor, adapting to the new rhythm, and, of course, being interested in the local culture.<\/p>\n

Anastasiia shares: “This is not only an opportunity to work with a non-trivial topic, but also an experience of intercultural cooperation and new approaches to research. It is also extremely interesting to learn more about the life of Ukrainian communities in Canada – I admire how they have managed to preserve their culture in the local context.”<\/p>\n
