Inna Koblianska, Head of the Department of International Economic Relations at Sumy State University, is undertaking a professional development programme at the University of Warwick (United Kingdom) from March 25 to April 2, 2026, within the framework of the international programme\u00a0UK\u2013UA STEM PRO, implemented with the support of the\u00a0President\u2019s Fund of Ukraine for Education, Science and Sports\u00a0and in cooperation with British partners.<\/p>\n

The training programme includes a series of study visits, training sessions, workshops, and meetings aimed at exploring the UK experience in developing innovation ecosystems, university\u2013business cooperation, commercialization of research, entrepreneurship development, and science communication. Particular attention is paid to the role of universities in fostering innovation, technology transfer, collaboration with industry, and the creation of startups based on research results.<\/p>\n

As part of the programme, participants have already visited\u00a0Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG), where they learned about the university\u2013industry collaboration model and the so-called\u00a0Catapult innovation model, which integrates science, education, and business. The programme also includes workshops on science communication, public engagement, entrepreneurship skills development, storytelling, and pitching innovative ideas, as well as study visits to research laboratories and engineering teaching facilities at the university.<\/p>\n

The next stages of the programme include visits to the\u00a0UK Battery Industrialisation Centre,\u00a0Harwell Innovation Campus,\u00a0University College London, as well as meetings with representatives of the UK innovation infrastructure, research organisations, and business sector. A separate component of the programme focuses on strengthening\u00a0UK\u2013Ukraine research collaboration\u00a0and establishing new partnerships.<\/p>\n

Participation in the programme provides an opportunity to study modern approaches to the development of innovative universities, entrepreneurial education, STEM education, and mechanisms of cooperation between universities and innovation clusters and science parks. The experience gained during the programme will be used to further develop international cooperation, update academic courses, and strengthen the innovation and entrepreneurship components of educational programmes at the Department of International Economic Relations.<\/p>\n
