The results of the joint Czech-Ukrainian project “Enhancement of Capacity Building Process in Quality of Education and Research at SNAU and SSU” in 2018

From 26th to 29th November 2018 it has held a series of meetings within the framework of the joint Czech-Ukrainian project “Enhancement of Capacity Building Process in Quality of Education and Research at SNAU and SSU”.

The main objective of the project deals with increasing of quality of education according to the European standards in setting up of quality management with the emphasis on pilot application of selected methodological tools, in improving research and science capacities and in improving of functionality of students’ self-governance at two selected universities in Sumy.

Teams of both universities worked hard and fruitfully. They performed results during meetings with representatives of the Czech University of Life Sciences (Prague).

The main tasks carried out both by teachers and students of Sumy State University during 2018, included improving the quality of education, developing student self-government and strengthening research activities.

The issue of improving the quality of education is one of the priorities for the teachers and students of the SSU. The results of self-assessment of educational programs (“economic cybernetics” and «economic and business innovation») regarding the standards and guidelines for quality assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG2015) and proposals for quality improvement were presented for discussion by a team of our university and received positive reviews.

The student activity was organized in 2 directions: student self-government initiatives and scientific research grants.

The first direction is represented by three projects:

  • Creation of the School of the head of the academic groups at the Sumy National Agrarian University
  • Make Academy Great Again
  • Eco-motion: students’ race

Interesting and creative – this is how measures proposed by the self-government could be described. Particular attention was paid to the platform for the exchange of creative initiatives and a literature collection of student’s works realized in the framework of the projects coordinated by student of ERI BT “UAB” SSU Oleksandr Polishchuk.

Active participants received certificates from the Czech Development Agency.

Data collecting is ongoing within the research project “Agri-Cooperatives and Institutions for Rural Development“. Participants and scientific coordinator performed current results and discussed problems and tasks for further work.
