Participation of the EU Erasmus+ Project coordinator “Implementation of European Union mechanisms for combating modern challenges and threats” in workshops on basic stress resilience skills in communications during the war

On 02-23 November 2023, PhD, Assoc. Prof. Viktoriia Shkola, the EU Erasmus+ Project coordinator “Implementation of European Union mechanisms for combating modern challenges and threats” (101085700 – IMEU – ERASMUS-JMO-2022-HEITCH-RSCH), has taken part in series of online workshops on basic stress resilience skills in communication during the war. The event was conducted by expert trainer Natalia Ulko – a practical psychologist of psychoanalytical orientation, a certified specialist of the International Institute of Depth Psychology, a member of the Ukrainian Association of Psychoanalysis, an expert trainer of international class, a member of the Ukrainian Association of Psychotherapists, crisis psychologist, specialist in work with trauma and loss, certified specialist under the British TRiM program (trauma risk management).

More than 160 representatives from various regions of Ukraine, namely public activists, local deputies, volunteers, representatives of business and state authorities, and other stakeholders have participated in the event.

The event’s main goal was to form practical skills for maintaining a stable emotional state and increase one’s efficiency in conditions of intense work during the war.

As part of the event, models of effective communication with service members, the wounded, members of their families, and people experiencing losses, as well as deepened competencies in psychological assistance in crises, were studied.

During the event, the participants acquired practical skills in maintaining a stable emotional state, dealing with people in complex psychological states in crises, correct communication with people experiencing losses, and also discussed how to be resourceful and effective under challenging communications during the war, in particular, with military personnel and the wounded; developed self-soothing skills and techniques.
