On December 9, 2022, associate professor of the department of “International Economic Relations” Lyudmila Khomutenko and students of specialty 292 “International Economic Relations” class ME-11a and class ME-01a took part in the public discussion “New Challenges and Opportunities of Ukraine’s Trade Policy and Tools for Their Assessment”, held online by the Institute of Economic Research and Policy Consultations (IER) with the support of the USAID Program “Competitive Economy of Ukraine”. The event was moderated by professor of the Department of Economic Theory of the National University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy”, Chairman of the Board of the IER Dr. Ihor Burakovsky. The event was dedicated to discussing how Ukraine’s trade policy is evolving and how trade policy analysis and modeling tools can be used to make the most of existing opportunities and confront the challenges. The public presentation was presented by Veronika Movchan, scientific director of the IER. The presentation used the results of the assessment of the impact of potential future free trade agreements (FTAs) of Ukraine and other aspects of trade policy, conducted by the research group of the Institute of Economic Research and Political Consultations with the support of the “Competitive Economy of Ukraine” program. Representatives of state authorities, business, the academic community, and business/industrial associations were invited to the event.
