From 10 to 14 October 2023, Yuriy Petrushenko, Head of the Department of International Economic Relations of Sumy State University, and Head of the EU Information Centre in Sumy Region, paid a working study visit to the institutions of the European Union. The delegation of representatives of EU Information Centres visited the European Parliament, the European Commission, namely the Directorate-General for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR), the Council of the EU and the European External Action Service (EEAS) in Brussels. The participants learnt about the role of these institutions in EU decision-making and their priority areas of work and discussed current areas of cooperation between Ukraine and the EU on its way from candidate status to full membership.
The study visit was aimed at strengthening the capacity of EU Information Centres to disseminate information about the European Union, its policies and solidarity with Ukraine, which should be used in the activities of universities and research centres in Ukraine.
The visit was organised within the framework of a project of the EU Delegation to Ukraine.
