On July 3, 2023, the 13th meeting of the Ukraine-EU Civil Society Platform took place, in which O.M. Zamora, associate professor of the Department of International Economic Relations of the Sumy State University of Economics, took part, who is a member of the Working Group 3 of the Ukrainian side of the Platform. Ukraine-EU Civil Society Platform (https://eu-ua-csp.org.ua/) is a body of civil society, the creation of which is provided for by Art. 469-470 Association Agreements. According to the provisions of the Agreement, it is a bilateral body consisting of civil society representatives.
During the meeting, the state of implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU and progress in the implementation of the seven steps outlined by the Commission in its opinion on Ukraine’s application for membership in the European Union were discussed. Some of the speakers were present in Brussels, in particular the deputy head of the Mission of Ukraine to the EU, Mr. S. Tereshko, and some joined online, in particular, the head of the Committee on European Integration of the Verkhovna Rada, Mrs. I. Klympush-Tsintsadze. Problems and prospects for Ukraine today and in the post-war period in the fields of green transformation, unemployment reduction and energy were also debated. The meeting culminated in a discussion of ways to link the role of civil society in the development of European integration.
