From May 14 to 17, 2025, a working meeting took place as part of the project “Entrepreneurial Ukraine – developing entrepreneurial culture and competencies of students in Ukraine and Finland” between representatives of JAMK University of Applied Sciences (Finland) and International Economic Relations Department of the Educational and Academic Institute of Business, Economics and Management at Sumy State University.
The Department of International Economic Relations at SumDU was represented by:

Maryna Domashenko — Associate Professor of International Economic Relations Department;
Oksana Zamora — Associate Professor of International Economic Relations Department;
Anton Zhuravka — Student of the “International Economic Relations” program;
Daryna Petrovchuk — Student of the “International Economic Relations” program;
Ilona Pashchenko — Student of the “International Economic Relations” program;
Anna Pasko — Student of the “Tourism Business and Hospitality Industry” program;
Valeriia Kuchkova — Student of the “International Economic Relations” program.
As part of the project, a joint conference was organized and held: “International Conference on New Insights in Sustainable Business, Innovations and Responsible Management”, with the project leader and head of the organizing committee being JAMK School of Business lecturer Tetiana Shcherbyna.
In addition to section presentations, the conference program included a panel discussion on the topic: “Entrepreneurial Talent, Knowledge Creation and Gainful Employment – A Student’s Perspective”. The discussion addressed key issues such as the main sources of entrepreneurial talent, knowledge creation, paid employment, and their interdependence; the role of students in this overall discourse; the biggest challenges and ways to overcome them.
Based on the outcomes of the conference, the publication of a book of abstracts titled “International Conference on New Insights in Sustainable Business, Innovations and Responsible Management” is planned.
The visit also included a series of working meetings with representatives of Jamk School of Business. During the meetings, Yuliia Halynska and Maryna Domashenko presented the international and research achievements of the Department of International Economic Relations and proposed directions for further cooperation.
Additionally, during the meetings, agreements were reached on the following: creation of a unique platform for young researchers, students, and postgraduate students to present their research to the international academic community;Implementation of joint research projects between scholars of JAMK and International Economic Relations Department of the Educational and Academic Institute of Business, Economics and Management at Sumy State University; Development of a roadmap for implementing scientific and educational programs and projects; planning of future working meetings for the next academic year.
