Obtaining the research grant ‘Bioeconomy Innovation Award’

On 29 November 2023, the coordinator of the EU Erasmus+ Project “Implementation of European Union mechanisms for combating modern challenges and threats” (101085700 – IMEU – ERASMUS-JMO-2022-HEITCH-RSCH), PhD, Assoc. Prof. Viktoriia Shkola participated in the final stage of the 2nd Interdisciplinary PostDoc Event. The event was held at Technical University of Munich, Campus Straubing for Biotechnology and Sustainability.

During the event, teams formed during the first stage on November 9-10, 2023, presented interdisciplinary scientific projects submitted for grants to conduct the research during the next 9 months.

According to the discussion of the results with the auditorium, the project ‘Detoxifying diclofenac-contaminated water by symbiosing green microalgae and bacterial cellulose-producing microorganisms’ (‘DetoxMicky’) was acknowledged as one of the best projects. The winning team of scientists PhD, Assoc. Prof. Viktoriia Shkola, PhD Yvonne Gmach and PhD Manuel Ibañez obtained the research grant ‘Bioeconomy Innovation Award’ to develop the project.
