We invite you to participate in the 12th All-Ukrainian Student Scientific and Practical Conference “Translation Innovations”, which is held remotely at the Department of German Philology of Sumy State University on November 25, 2022.
The major areas of conference work:
Linguistic picture of the world and intercultural communication.
- Discursive linguistics: linguistic features.
- Current issues of applied and cognitive linguistics.
- Translation studies: traditional and innovative approaches and methods.
- Methodology and methods of modern literary research.
- Theory and methods of teaching foreign languages and translation in higher education and schools.
- Considering the works of the wandering philosopher Hryhoriy Skovoroda in translations.
Proceedings of the conference will be posted in soft copy on the website of the Department of German Philology, Faculty of FFSC, Sumy State University, in the section “Scientific activities”.
Conference languages: Ukrainian, English, German.
To participate in the conference, it is required to send the following documents to e-mail address info@gf.sumdu.edu.ua by November 1, 2022:
- abstracts (1-3 pages);
- application with information about the authors;
- feedback from the supervisor.

Requirements for preparation of abstracts:
In the materials of the 12th All-Ukrainian Student Scientific and Practical Conference “Translation Innovations”:
- Materials are provided in Ukrainian, English, or German in soft copy of Word file for Windows XP (the file must have the extension .doc, .doc, or .rtf).
- The volume of materials should not exceed 3 pages of A5 format (148 × 210) including bibliography, tables, and figures.
- Font: Times New Roman typeface, size 11 pt throughout the text; margins – 15 mm on all sides.
- Paragraph indent in the main text of the work: 10 mm; line spacing – single, page width alignment, without hyphenation.
- Title of the work – bold uppercase letters, centered, without paragraph indentation. The second line is the author’s last name and initials. The third line is the name of the educational institution in parentheses. The fourth one – data on the supervisor (surname, initials, degree, academic title). The second, third, and fourth lines are typed in italics with alignment on the right edge.
- If used, each illustration, diagram, or table should be numbered and signed, eg: Table 1 – Indicators (9 pt italics – 9 pt bold).
- Illustrative material in the text – italics, meanings of words, expressions, terms, etc. are taken in quotation marks – ” ” (Insert – Symbol). A dash (-) and a hyphen (-) must be clearly differentiated.
- The list of used sources (not more than 3 positions) is given at the end of the text of the thesis through a titleless line in the order of citation in the text. In the text of abstracts, references to the source should be given in square brackets, the page or range of pages should be indicated by comma, e.g. [2, 56], [3, 234–237]; a semicolon separates two or more literature sources within a single citation, e.g. [1; 2; 3].
- Abstracts submitted in violation of these requirements, or after the deadline for submission of materials, will not be considered.
