Foreign Experts Train the SumDU “International Economic Relations” Students

During October-November, a lecturer from the Department of International Economic Relations recorded a series of 40-minute English-language interviews with experts from 7 countries. This educational project aims to improve the quality of students’ online learning by enriching their experience with more diversified formats of presenting information directly from professionals.
During October-November, 2020, Oksana M. Zamora, a PhD, Associate Professor from the Department of International Economic Relations at the Educational and Research Institute for Business Technologies “UAB”, recorded a series of 40-minute English-language interviews with experts from 7 countries for her courses. This educational project aims to improve the quality of online learning for students since they notice some fatigue from this format. Recording dynamic and interesting interviews has become a tool to enrich their educational experience by providing information in English directly from professionals.
Representatives from government agencies, educational institutions and business practitioners from the USA, New Zealand, Great Britain, Portugal, Malta, the Czech Republic and Turkey were invited to participate in the project. The experts were selected in such a way that they could cover almost the entire map of the world: from the United States, African countries, Europe, Asia to New Zealand, with stories about their experience in business or analysis of economics and trade relations. Videos have already been used in the educational process and have received very positive feedback from students because they are unique in terms of the content and the business world’s presented geography.
This project is the result of the long-term international-level activities of the author of the idea. It allowed gathering such an impressive and useful bank of contacts. It is a vivid evidence of how important internationalization is for the staff of an educational institution and its students community.
