Students of the Department of International Economic Relations of Sumy State University, Anton Zhuravka and Taisiia Fomenko, took part in the international youth project “Empowering Youth with Non-Violent Communication,” which was held from April 19 to April 26, 2026, in Peniche, Portugal. The initiative was implemented within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme and brought together young people from six European countries: Ukraine, Portugal, Germany, Spain, Greece, and Türkiye.
The participants worked on developing skills in non-violent communication, peaceful conflict resolution, intercultural dialogue, as well as digital literacy and safe behaviour in the online environment.
The programme included training sessions, team-building activities, presentations of the participating countries, and discussions on tolerance, inclusion, and youth leadership. Special attention was paid to cultural exchange and strengthening international cooperation among young people from different countries.
Participation in such initiatives opens new opportunities for students’ personal development, improvement of communication competences, and gaining valuable international experience.
We are delighted that our students became part of this important international project, достойно represented Ukraine and the university at the European level. We are proud of their activity, initiative, and aspiration for development.
