IER Department Students Participated in the “Cultural Resilience and Beyond” International Youth Camp in Italy

From October 13 to 19, 2025, students from the Department of International Economic Relations (IER) took part in the International Youth Camp “Cultural Resilience and Beyond.” The event was held in Spoleto, Italy, as part of the Erasmus+ CHERISH project, “Cultural Heritage Recovery after Disasters and Conflicts.” The camp program focused on developing youth competencies in protecting cultural heritage during emergencies and fostering skills in intercultural interaction and leadership.

The group consisted of students from various years: Sofiia Kyselova, Valeriia Ozerova, Anton Zhuravka, Valeriia Kuchkova, and Yaroslav Sai. The group leader was Oksana Zamora, PhD, Associate Professor of the IER Department at Sumy State University. The event was organized by the Umbria Training Center association (Italy), and all expenses were covered by the CHERISH project.

As part of the program, participants from different countries were able to:

  • visit historical and cultural sites in the Umbria region;
  • participate in workshops and training sessions on the recovery and preservation of cultural heritage after disasters;
  • discuss international experiences in cultural resilience and the role of youth in its formation;
  • engage in meetings with experts and representatives of local authorities.

The participation of Sumy State University students in such international events promotes their professional development, the expansion of academic partnerships, and the strengthening of the university’s international image.
