Professor of the Ukrainian Academy of Banking of the National Bank of Ukraine is invited to the forming «Times Higher Education World University Rankings»

Professor of department of international economy Kostyuk O.M. received an invitation from the head of the rating committee of the «Times Higher Education World University Rankings» to take part in the evaluation of the world universities.

This rating was developed by the British magazine Times Higher Education with the cooperation of the world-wide publishing company Elsevier. The results of evaluation helps to reproduce the real picture of high education and science in the world. In fact they influence on two ratings – The World University Rankings and The World Reputation Rankings.

The scientist, which is selected by the rating committee, will take part in the evaluation and will present own country (in this case Ukraine) and their scientific interests (in this case corporate governance). It should be noted that this year the representatives of world academic association took part at evaluation.

The additional information about rating are presented at the next reference or on the site of Department of education and science of Ukraine.

The rating of 2014-2015 included 400 universities, that was calibrated on 13 performance indicators. There are first five top universities: Californian Technological University (The USA); Harvard University (The USA); Oxford University (UK); Stanford University (The USA); Cambridge University (UK).

13 performance indicators are grouped into five areas:
• Teaching: the learning environment (worth 30 per cent of the overall ranking score)
• Research: volume, income and reputation (worth 30 per cent)
• Citations: research influence (worth 30 per cent)
• Industry income: innovation (worth 2.5 per cent)
• International outlook: staff, students and research (worth 7.5 per cent).

Requirements of this rating are far harder, than Academic’s Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) or U-Multirank.

The universities do not join rating, where general amount of scientific publications less than 1000 labours during last five years, or less than 200 publications for one of five years. This requirement concerns publications in scientific magazines, which are indexed Thomson Reuters’ Web of Science of database. It is the main reason why there are no universities from Ukraine.

We hope that the Ukrainian Academy of Banking of the National Bank of Ukraine will be included to this presentable rating of the world universities.
