Specialized English courses for lecturers at the University of applied science of Deutsche Bundesbank

Senior lecturer of the Chair of International Economics, Ph.D. Olga Afanasyeva took part in an intensive English course for university teachers during 17-20 November University of Applied Sciences of the Deutsche Bundesbank (Hahenburh, Germany).

An international team also included senior lecturer of the Chair of Accounting and Audit PhD Artem Koldovskyi, two colleagues from the Institutes of the University of banking of NBU and seven doctors from the University of Deutsche Bundesbank.

During training teachers were able not only to improve their language skills, but also learn the basic principles of economic courses teaching methodology for students in English. British business coach Ian Scott used interactive teaching methods, including involvement in discussions on current life and professional topics, presentations, usage of communication techniques. The courses are extremely important for the implementation of teaching English courses for academy’s students.

Lecturers of the Academy presented the Rector of German university Prof. Dr. Erich Keller T-shirt with Academy logotype. Dr. Keller was very happy with the present and noted that this is a very useful thing in the cool autumn.

As a result of training teachers received certificates from the University of Applied Sciences of the Deutsche Bundesbank. Moreover, the participation in the course was an opportunity to expand professional contacts.

The cultural program included a visit to the ancient cities in Germany, including Cologne, Bonn, Siegburg.

One must note that the Department of International Economics teaches students courses in English for several years. Participation in these courses is a good opportunity for the expansion of the department activity in this direction and increasing the number of courses taught in foreign language.
