In September 2022, we invite you to join a month-long virtual class for PhD students and researchers on “Practical Tools for Grant-Funded Research”. The class is planned as a set of webinars (22-28.09) with the follow-up of practical workshops for PhD students and young researchers using the virtual platform. The Czech experts will provide the guidance in fulfilling the practical assignments and will cover the following topics, among others, guaranteeing the quality of your research to be funded by a European grant:
– improving work with scientific databases and introducing the principles of scientometrics. Different systems of measuring and analysing scientific literature.
– assessments of differences between Web of Science and Scopus based on scientometrics as well as Fields of Research and Development (FORD) classification.
– the structure of scientific work and research type eligible for grant funding.
– the specifics of research projects: calls, management, and implementation.
The asynchronous learning mode will make it easier for the participants to comprehend the materials provided by Czech experts and to apply them on practice. The outcome of the class for each participant is planned to be a grant proposal concept, with which the learners will be encouraged to apply for the mini-grants call. NOTE: only graduates of this class can apply for mini-grants.
The best learner from each partner university will be invited to join the study tour and a Summer School in Prague in the autumn 2022. All successful graduates will be awarded a certificate with relevant ECTS.

The development project “ENHANCEMENT OF THE PHD STUDENTS POTENTIAL FOR QUALITATIVE RESEARCH IN UKRAINE” (August-December 2022) is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. The project has been launched by the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague (Czech Republic) and Sumy State University in a consortium with other 4 Ukrainian universities: Dnipro State Agrarian and Economic University, Sumy National Agrarian University, Polish National University, and Chernihiv Polytechnic National University. The head of the project from the Czech side is David Herak, PhD, Faculty of Engineering. The project coordinator from the Ukrainian side for Sumy State University is a PhD in Economics, Associate Professor Oksana Zamora, Department of International Economic Relations of the ARI BiEM.
