On 7 November 2023, PhD, Assoc. Prof. Viktoriia Shkola, the EU Erasmus+ Project coordinator “Implementation of European Union mechanisms for combating modern challenges and threats” (101085700 – IMEU – ERASMUS-JMO-2022-HEITCH-RSCH), has taken part in training «Gamification in Teaching» held at ProLehre | Media and Didactics – Institute for LifeLong Learning of Technical University of Munich (Germany).
Training goals were to learn how to imagine and improvise stories for lectures, create quizzes and use them in different ways, stimulate exciting discussions and presentations in training courses, develop interesting practical projects for students in the context of gamification, create quest rooms, etc.
As part of the event, gamification mechanisms were studied. Moreover, various competencies in higher education pedagogy, linking research in teaching and learning with the practical experience of the university teachers and the innovative teaching methods provided by educational technologies and digitalisation, were deepened. Furthermore, during the training, participants developed quizzes using their teaching materials and experimented with exciting ways to use them, created stories to make their teaching activities more exciting, and worked together to design meaningful and motivating hands-on projects for students, as well as directly implemented and tried out what they had learned in their gamification application.
