Participation of team member of the EU Erasmus+ program project «Implementation of European Union mechanisms for combating modern challenges and threats» in the online event “Economic trends from the point of view of business”, presentation of the results of the 20th Monthly survey of enterprise managers “Ukrainian business during the war”

On January 15, 2024, the executor of the EU Erasmus+ program project on the topic ” Implementation of European Union mechanisms for combating modern challenges and threats ” (101085700 – IMEU – ERASMUS-JMO-2022-HEITCH-RSCH) Phd of economics, assoc. prof. Marуna Domashenko took part in the online event “Economic trends from the point of view of business”, presenting the results of the 20th Monthly survey of enterprise managers “Ukrainian business during the war”.

The event was held by the NGO “Institute of Economic Research and Political Consultations” (IER). The purpose of the event was to present the results of the New monthly survey of business managers “Ukrainian business during the war”, to discuss economic trends in relation to business expectations, and also to consider obstacles to business operations in 2023.

The speakers of the event were: Oksana Kuziakiv, executive director of IER, specialist in business surveys, Yevhen Anhel, Senior Research Fellow at the IER, Iryna Fedets, Senior Research Fellow at the IER, Anastasia Gulik, Research Fellow at the IER.

Key positions of the event:

– the results of the survey of Ukrainian enterprises are presented;

– the past performance of enterprises and expectations for the future are presented;

– problems of employment and the labor market were examined;

– obstacles to doing business and economic policy in wartime;

– problems with electricity;

– presentation of the results of the survey on the evaluation of the State economic policy.

The monthly survey consists of two parts – regular and special. Respondents regularly answer questions about changes in the main performance indicators and short-term forecasts regarding future changes in these same indicators. The special part examines the problems of enterprises, the impact of the war on production volumes, export activities, the basic needs of business and the evaluation of government policy.

The research used a panel sample that includes 500+ enterprises located in 21 of 27 regions of Ukraine.
