Vladyslav Dibrova, a graduate student of the Department of International Economic Relations at Sumy State University, was selected to participate in a long-term training course – a training for trainers – organized by the Council of Europe project “Youth for Democracy in Ukraine: Phase III” in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine.
The long-term training course will contribute to the implementation of youth projects in Ukraine by developing the competencies of youth workers, youth trainers, and young activists, supporting the quality of non-formal education and training activities in the war and post-war period, and enabling young people to actively support, protect, promote and benefit from the core values of the Council of Europe: human rights, democracy and the rule of law.
The long-term training course includes several stages and combines face-to-face meetings, project-based and online learning, an intensive support scheme for developing training competencies, mentoring, etc. The following features will be the basis for learning and development during the course:
– First and second in-person workshops – July and October 2024.
– Online training – from August 2024 to May 2025;
– Self-assessment – throughout the course;
– Study plan – throughout the course;
– Mentoring – throughout the course;
– Third in-person seminar – May 2025.
– Training practice.
All participants are expected to plan, conduct and evaluate a short learning event that can occur at any time between the two face-to-face seminars and the full curriculum before the third face-to-face seminar (May 2025).
The long training course will not include formal certification of participants as professionally qualified trainers. Individual certificates of participation and portfolios of achievements will be provided by the Council of Europe project “Youth for Democracy in Ukraine” to each participant who completes the training course. Similarly, completion of the training course will not mean automatic enrollment in the expert pool of youth projects of the Council of Europe. Still, it will open the possibility of applying to the expert pool(s) in the field of youth.
