Academic mobility of students at Jamk University of Applied Sciences (Finland)

In the spring semester of 2024, students of the Department of International Economic Relations Yuliia Tatarchenko, Valeriia Drobot, Valeriia Domashenko, Anastasiia Teslyk and Olha Hrytsyna visited JAMK University of Applied Sciences (Finland) as part of the academic mobility programme and took part in five courses during the spring semester, as well as a summer school at the university.
We would like to thank Jamk University of Applied Sciences for their cooperation and provide feedback from our students:

Valeria Drobot:

This is my first experience of academic mobility, and at first I was afraid whether this country and this university would accept me, but as it turned out, it was in vain. The university, as well as the country and the city itself, have accepted me as one of their own, and I really like it here. There is incredible nature and wonderful people here.

I am very glad that I entered the Department of International Economic Relations, which gave me the opportunity to take part in such mobility. This is an invaluable experience that will be useful both in everyday life and in my future career.

Valeria Domashenko:

I am very grateful for the opportunities provided by the Department of International Economic Relations, because we are all living in a rather difficult time. But thanks to the international activities of Sumy State University, students have the opportunity to learn about the world of education and cultures of different countries. I had the opportunity to study at Jamk University, Finland, where they value practice rather than theory. I experienced real student life through various university events, projects and new friends.

Anastasiia Teslyk:

Student mobility should definitely be remembered for the great people and insightful learning. This is exactly what happened to me at Jamk University of Applied Sciences.
This experience catalysed my motivation to learn about the world through intercultural communication. And the multidisciplinary approach to teaching managed to highlight my strengths and weaknesses. So, I will take with me not only a deeper understanding of business processes, but also a better understanding of myself.

Yulia Tatarchenko:

My experience of participating in the semester mobility programme at JAMK University (Jyväskylä, Finland) was extremely positive and unforgettable. This programme gave me the opportunity not only to gain valuable academic knowledge, but also to immerse myself in a new culture and expand my horizons.
One of JAMK’s greatest strengths is its high level of education. The teachers here are true professionals, always ready to help and support students. The courses taught were well structured and had a practical focus, which allowed me to apply theoretical knowledge in practice.
I especially liked the opportunity to work in international groups, where we exchanged experiences and ideas with colleagues from different countries. Apart from the academic aspect, the mobility programme gave me the opportunity to travel and discover Finland. It was a great way to broaden my horizons and gain new experiences.
Overall, the semester at JAMK was incredibly beneficial for my personal and professional development. I am very grateful for this opportunity and recommend the mobility programme to anyone who wants to get a quality education and unforgettable experience.

Olha Hrytsyna:

While studying at the Department of International Economic Relations, I had the opportunity to be an exchange student at the Jamk University of Applied Sciences on the International Business programme. This programme gave me the opportunity to gain new knowledge, experience and unforgettable impressions. Meeting new people from different parts of the world broadened my horizons and opened up new perspectives. Staying in Finland gave me the opportunity not only to get acquainted with Finnish culture, but also to immerse myself in it completely, as well as to fully experience student life.

Student mobility became possible thanks to a joint project of researchers from the Department of International Economic Relations of Sumy State University and JAMK University of Applied Sciences. The Department of International Economic Relations is working to ensure that the cooperation becomes permanent and that students annually take part in semester studies in Finland.
This year, visits of the Department’s researchers to JAMK University of Applied Sciences are planned.
