International Academic Collaboration: SumDU Faculty Members and PhD Students Successfully Complete Virtual Mobility Programme with the University of Leeds

Faculty members, PhD students, and early-career researchers of Sumy State University have successfully completed the joint virtual mobility programme “Contemporary Research and Publication Practices”, implemented in cooperation with Leeds University Business School, University of Leeds (United Kingdom).

The programme aimed to strengthen participants’ research competencies, improve the quality of academic publications, and promote the integration of Ukrainian researchers into the international scientific community. Throughout the programme, participants enhanced their knowledge of contemporary research methodologies, academic integrity, publication strategies for international journals, open science practices, and the application of digital technologies and artificial intelligence in research.

Over the three-month programme, participants attended interactive lectures, engaged in academic discussions, analysed case studies, and completed individual assignments. Particular attention was paid to preparing manuscripts for journals indexed in international bibliographic databases, the responsible use of AI tools in research, effective academic communication, and participation in international research projects and scholarly networks.

Upon completion of the programme, participants strengthened their skills in research design, critical evaluation of current scientific trends, the application of digital research tools, and the preparation of high-quality international publications. These competencies will contribute to increasing the international visibility of their research, expanding global academic collaboration, and further integrating Sumy State University researchers into the international research community.

The programme comprised 60 academic hours (2 ECTS credits) and concluded with a final assessment. Participants who successfully met the programme requirements received certificates recognizing the knowledge and professional competencies they had acquired.

The successful implementation of the programme represents another important milestone in the academic partnership between Sumy State University and the University of Leeds, highlighting the value of virtual mobility as an effective instrument for the professional development of faculty members and early-career researchers.
