Feedback from a student of the group MEV-02.a.an, speciality International Economics, Bohdana Lisnyak
It’s already the fourth year of my studies, writing my thesis and graduation. And reflecting on my student life, I am infinitely grateful to Sumy State University for accepting my international experience. Thanks to two Erasmus+ programmes and refugee mobility, I managed to study at European universities for 2 years.
I gained my first international experience in Spain (University of Almeria), a country I fell in love with at first sight. I was incredibly lucky to live by the sea, surrounded by palm trees and the sun. It was incredibly cool to go to the beach after classes and watch the sunset. Student life here is quite intense, with activities for every taste. I personally managed to join a dance group at the university. As for the educational system, the main thing in Spain is to attend and pass the final exam. There was almost no homework, we did all the practical work at the university.
The next semester I went to Lithuania (Vytautas Magnus University) for my second Erasmus+. Lithuania was a great contrast to sunny Spain. It was interesting to compare two opposite countries. Besides, the university education was quite different as well: the system was more similar to the Ukrainian one. In addition, in Lithuania, I managed to volunteer at an international conference hosted by my university.
After two years, I decided to return to study under the refugee programme of the University of Almeria. I spent my final year at the university where I was on my first Erasmus.
It was an incredible experience that has helped me both professionally and personally. Now I can proudly say that I am fluent in English and Spanish. In addition, between my studies, I managed to visit 15 countries and volunteer in Slovenia.
